William Archer Rhodey

William Archer Rhodey 70, of Oak Ridge TN, went to be with the Lord, and his family on Saturday April 5th, 2025. He passed at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on March 12th, 1955, and raised in Clinton (Marlow) TN. William was better well-known as Archer, Archie, Or Arch. He worked for Marlow's volunteer fire dept., spent many years doing public works for the city of Oak Ridge. From there he retired then spent his later years working part time doing maintenance for Home Depot. Archer’s passion was planting flowers and caring for an enchanting flowers and vegetable garden. Stranger would drive up his road just to see it and take photos. He also enjoyed Nascar, cold beer, wrestling, grilling, fishing, spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Always making time for those he loved. Never missing a game, event, or party. Simply spending time, lending an ear on to listen, shoulder to cry on, a helping hand, to words of advice and encouragement. He would spend the rest of his time caring for and doting on his beautiful loving wife Linda. He would never let her run out of fresh roses. Having just celebrated their 52nd anniversary, March 27 even though he was in the hospital, he had secretly made prior arrangement to have flowers delivered to Linda. To be certain not to skip a beat or miss their special day. Archer Rhodey wore many different hats throughout his life. No matter where he went, he was beloved, befriended, and cherished. Known for his radiant smile, boisterous laugh, deep blue eyes, his ability to make the most out of any situation and put a smile on other faces. He was the best Husband, father, papaw, uncle, brother, friend anyone could ever ask for. He will be terribly missed! Preceded in death by parents Velma Louise Rhodey (White) and William Rhodey, siblings Connie Rhodey, Charlie Rhodey, Steve Rhodey, Billy Rhodey, and Randy Rhodey and Sister-in-law Jeanie Rhodey. He is survived by his loving wife Linda A. Rhodey, Daughters Jaqueline Rhodey, Rebecca and Joseph Washington, Son William “BB” Rhodey and Wendy Rhodey. Grandchildren Xavier Underwood, Kiana Underwood, Katie Brown, William Brown, Angel Brown, Ivy-lee Mcdonie, Hope Hicks, Gabe Rhodey. Seven great grandchildren. Sister-in-law Jean Rhodey, Susie Rhodey, Niece Nikki Rhodey, nephew Randall Rhodey. Nieces Dessie Rhodey, Jessica Rhodey, nephew Jason Rhodey, Nieces Amber Rhodey, Autumn Rhodey, Nephew Charlie Rhodey, Niece Rebecca Robinson-Smith, Nephews Lewis Robinson, John T Rhodey . We will be having a Celebration of life for family and friends on May 10th at 1pm at 107 Pickwick Lane Oak Ridge TN, 37830.
