Obituary of Thelma Faye Overbay

Thelma Faye Phillips Overbay, age 74 , of Clinton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at her home in Clinton. She enjoyed cooking, gardening with her flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. Thelma loved the Lord and her church family at Deep Springs Baptist Church where she was a member.

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, Tomey and Sarah Phillips; youngest son, Anthony (Tony Overbay; brothers, Maynard Phillips and James Phillips; sisters, Lizzie Carroll, Sabra Potter and Marie Lawson; and on daughter in law, Donna Overbay.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Donie Overbay her caregiver and best friend for 59 years of Clinton, TN; two sons, Edward Overbay and Kenny Overbay both of Clinton, TN; three grandchildren, Aaron Overbay, Natasha Overbay, Anthony Overbay; four great grandchildren; brother, Clyde Phillips and wife Nena Faye of Wartburg, TN; sister, Dollie Phillips Morris of Wartburg, TN; special little buddy, Tyler Burgess; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Thelma's family will receive her friends from 6pm - 8pm on Thursday, March 21, 2019 in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with her funeral service to follow at 8pm with Rev. Brian Thomas and Rev. Joe Copeland officiating. Thelma's interment will be at 1pm on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
