Peggy Sue Jeffers

Peggy Sue Jeffers (née Chase), age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 9, 2025, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Born on July 6, 1947, in Briceville, Tennessee, Peggy lived a life marked by dedication to her family and her profession. 

Peggy devoted over three decades of her life to the field of medicine, retiring from Covenant Health after 30 years of service. Her long-standing commitment to healthcare reflected a deep sense of responsibility and care for others. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jimmy Jeffers; her children: Steve Jeffers and his wife Carol, Keith Jeffers and his wife Amy, Saundra Rodgers and her husband Steven, and Kevin Jeffers and his wife Becky. Peggy was a proud grandmother to Brittany Jeffers, Lauren Williams, Zachary Jeffers, Maggie Jeffers, Patrick Adcox, Skylor Roberts, Sarah Howard, Brock Beaty, Sawyer Reed, Shawnee Reed, Isabella Rodgers, and Stevie Rodgers. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Elijiah, Nolan, Madison, Kolton, River, Maverick, and Ryan.

Peggy is also survived by her brothers Jimmy Chase, Vaughn Chase, and Johnny Chase. She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Hazel Chase and her brother Tommy Chase.

The family will hold a private service at a later time to honor Peggy’s life.
