Morris Holbrook age 79 of Andersonville, TN passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Morris was a great husband, father, and papaw. He enjoyed nature, fishing, hunting, being in the woods, and was better known as the squirrel whisperer. Morris loved watching college football, and supported the Tennessee Vols and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Louise Holbrook.
Morris is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Holbrook of Andersonville, TN; son, Ricky Holbrook and wife Leslie “Carole” of Andersonville, TN; brothers, Mack Toliver of Berksville, KY, Paul Holbrook of Andersonville, TN, Donald Holbrook of Andersonville, TN, Carlos Holbrook of Slemp, KY, Ernest Holbrook of Hurst, TX, and Cordell Holbrook of Andersonville, TN; sisters, Juanita Shepherd of Gordon, KY, LaDona Sparkman of Andersonville, TN, and Betty Sue Creech of Andersonville, TN; granddaughters, Aimie Vaughn and husband, Dave of Wisconsin, Tamie Ridenour and husband Josh of Heiskell, TN, Erica Warwick and husband, Jonathan of Rocky Top, TN; great grandchildren, Lillie, Caitlin, Brad, Sydnie, Reed, Jarrett, and Evie. Morris also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Morris’s family will receive his friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 with his funeral service following at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Freddie Bean officiating. Morris’s interment will be 11:00 am on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the New Home Baptist Church cemetery in Andersonville, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
