Jan (Nichols) Bieckert, age 56 of Clinton, TN passed away on Saturday morning, July 9, 2016 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 13, 1960, in Sevierville, TN, to the parents of Shirley Nichols and the late Cleve Nichols. She was a 1978 graduate of Clinton Senior High School, Clinton, TN. Jan’s biggest joys in her life were her two sons, A.J. Bieckert and Chad Bieckert. They gave her much happiness in her life just like all of her family members. She loved animals of any kind and was best known for caring for them anytime they needed help. Jan was a member of Second Baptist Church in Clinton, TN.
Jan is preceded in death by her father, Cleve Nichols; grandparents, John and Aileen Nichols, and Rev. Marvin and Mattie Hood.
Jan is survived by her two sons, A.J. and Chad Bieckert, both of Clinton, TN; loving mother and caregiver, Shirley Nichols of Clinton, TN; sisters, Pam Alley and husband, Mark of Heiskell, TN, and Pattie Andrews and husband, Phil of Powell, TN; nephews, Jesse Goins and wife, Andi of Chattanooga, TN, Cody Goins and wife, Amie of Jonesborough, TN, and Brad and Ben Andrews, both of Powell, TN. And a host of family which she also loved and made many special memories with, aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
Jan’s family and friends will meet for a graveside service on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Providence Baptist Church cemetery, 5766 Sevierville Rd., Seymour, TN 37865, with Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. Family is serving as her pallbearers. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to Covenant Hospice/Home Care of Fort Sanders Foundation, 280 Fort Sanders West Blvd., Suite 202, Knoxville, TN 37922, in memory of Jan Bieckert.
The family would like to thank Dr. Repine and Dr. Strike and their staff at Thompson Cancer Center in Oak Ridge, TN, for their excellent care. Also, Covenant Hospice staff for their love and care for many weeks, especially her nurse, Erika. Special thanks to the many friends and church friends for their sincere condolences and ministry during this time.
