James Melton

James Melton age 75 of Andersonville, TN passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Andersonville, TN. He was a devoted grandfather, and loved to fish. James lived in northwest Indiana for more than forty years before returning to Tennessee to retire. James was always willing to lend a helping hand and was heavily involved in the Democratic Party for 30 years. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church in Andersonville, TN. James is preceded in death by his parents, Zee & Reba Melton; daughter, Rebecca Kowalski; and sister, Betty Irwin. James is survived by his son, David Melton and wife, Kim of Cocoa Beach, FL; daughter, Christine Melton of Springfield, OR; brothers, Clifton Melton of Clinton, TN, Clayton Foust of Andersonville, TN; sisters, Ruth Murphy of Clinton, TN, Barbara Henderson of Clinton, TN, Virginia McCoy of Andersonville, TN, Sue Melton of Andersonville, TN; grandchildren, Airman First Class Trevor Melton of McChord AFB, WA, and Tara Melton of Glendale, AZ, and a host of other relatives and friends. James's family will receive his friends on Wednesday, May 1st from 1:00 - 2:30 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. His graveside service will follow his visitation at the Norris Memorial Gardens in Norris, TN with Rev. Larry Ridenour officiating. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
