Jack J Rutherford

Jack J. Rutherford passed away on Easter Sunday Morning when Jesus called him home on April 20, 2025, in Knoxville, Tn. surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Dandridge, Tn on December 22, 1943. Jack was a member of First Apostolic Church in Knoxville, Tn. He was a loving husband of 43 years, loved his family and going to church, Jack also enjoyed traveling, reading, photography, listening to music and playing the piano. Jack took pride in building his own home. Jack was a Jack of all trades and mastered in heating and air and owned Rutherford Heating and Air for 45 years. If he didn’t know how to do something he would look up reading material to accomplish how to get it done.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Rev. Clyde and Jewel Rutherford, Stepson Scott (Scooter) Roberts, Brothers: C.W Rutherford and Rev. James Halbert Rutherford and Sister Margaret Catherine Brown. He is survived by his wife Betty Rutherford of Knoxville Tn, Stepsons Steven Harold Roberts of Knoxville Tn, and James (Nick) Roberts of Knoxville, Tn, Sister-in-law Carolyn Rutherford of Maryville, Tn. Also leaves behind 5 nieces and 3 nephews along with 8 Step grandchildren and 10 great step-grandchildren. Special thanks to Smokey Mountain Hospice for their loving care for Jack and to Bob and Melba Roberts for their thoughtfulness and concern.

The Family will receive friends on Wednesday April 23, 2025, at First Apostolic Church in Knoxville, Tn. starting at 11:00 am till the Celebration of Life at 11:30 am with Bishop Billy McCool and Pastor Mark McCool officiating.  Family and friends will meet at 3:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, Tn for a graveside service on Wednesday, April 23,2025.
