George Phillips

George Junior Phillips age 77 of Clinton, TN went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2015 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. He was born in New River, TN on March 3, 1938. George loved to walk and now he will walk through heaven. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. George is preceded in death by his parents, Melton and Annie Mae Phillips; sisters, Lassie Faye Harness, and Idell Maggard. George is survived by wife, Annie Phillips of Clinton, TN; children, Georgia Phillips of Clinton, TN, Melissa Huff and husband, Corey of Oak Ridge, TN, Angela Matchett and husband, Ben of Clinton, TN, Keith Phillips of Oak Ridge, TN, brothers, William McKinley Phillips and wife, Kizzie of Clinton, TN, Arnold Phillips and wife Cindy of Coalfield, TN, Leroy Phillips and wife, Gail of Clinton, TN, Dal Phillips and wife Terri of Coalfield, TN, Cline Phillips and wife, Betty of Rocky Top, TN; sisters, Imogene Wright, and Geneva Patterson. George also leaves behind 8 loving grandchildren, Amber, Anna, Jacob, Alexandra, Isaac, Alyssa, Dillion, and Ruby, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. George’s family will receive his friends on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00pm with is funeral service following at 8:00pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. His interment will be Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:00am at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton, TN.
