Geneva Harriet Gillette, a woman of faith, dedicated wife, loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, age 87 of Knoxville, TN, passed from our hands into the loving arms of God on December 4, 2012. Her life is a testimony of faith, love, forgiveness, kindness and grace. Her legacy and life lessons will remain constant after her death through the generations of both her family and friends. Geneva Harriet Gillette was born February 9, 1925 in Dayton, OH to Walter and Iva Miller. She married LeRoy Gillette Jr. in 1941 who preceded her in death in 1982. She was a devoted mother, raising her children in Dayton, OH and attending Jesus Name Pentecostal Church. Geneva was a member of Eagle Bend Apostolic Church in Clinton, Tennessee. Her brother, Seaman Daniel Miller preceded her in death in World War II while serving in the Pacific. Geneva is now reunited with her beloved child, LeRoy "Butch" Gillette III who preceded her in death in 2003. . She is survived by her daughter, Melvina Trantanella of Knoxville, TN and her son, Daniel Gillette and daughter-in-law, Beth Gillette of Knoxville, TN; 2 brothers, Walter and Raymond Miller, and 1 sister, Wanita Roberts; grandchildren, David Trantanella, Maria Pelsor, Leah Heifner, Deborah Benton, Daniel Gillette, Greg Potter, Ricky Gillette, Shannon Stringer, Tisha VanAllen, & Tasha Eldridge, as well as a host of great-grandchildren. Geneva's family will receive friends on Friday, December 7th from 5:00PM to 7:30PM at Eagle Bend Apostolic Church in Clinton, TN with her funeral service to immediately follow. Interment will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 1PM at Grandview Memorial Garden in Clinton, TN.
