Edith Francis Harmening age 96 of Clinton, TN passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Tennova Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. . Edith was an educator for many decades in the classroom & the Central Office. She had a great love for her children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. Edith also had a great love for her church, South Clinton Baptist Church, where she was a member. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack Kammie Clark Sr. & Jessie Gladys Clark; husband, Cecil Harmening; daughter, Quindal Miller; brothers, J.B. Clark, Raleigh Clark, & Mack Kammie Clark Jr.; sisters, Sally London, & Georgia Hill.
Edith is survived by her son, Mike Harmening & wife Patti of Clinton; daughter, Cecilia Carden & husband Eddy of Knoxville; son-in-law, Herb Miller of Chattanooga & sister, Polly Guy & husband Spurgeon of Oak Ridge. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kim Waggoner & husband Kenneth, Mike Carden & wife Carol, Debbie Glenn & husband Matt, Robbie Harmening, Megan Thomas & husband Patrick, Ty Harmening & wife Tiffany, Christin Miller, & Andy Miller. As well as great grandchildren, Sydney, Molly, Tanner, Emma, Olivia, Jacob, Drew, Zachary, Trevor, Tucker, Clara, Shollie, & Ella.
Edith's family will receive her friends on Friday, April 4, 2014 at South Clinton Baptist Church from
6 pm - 8 pm with her Celebration of Life immediately following at 8 pm with Rev. Roger Pugh officiating.
Interment will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10 am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Powell. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to South Clinton Baptist Church, 1000 Clinch Ave., Clinton, TN 37716.
