Clyde Edward Marlow age 77 of Oliver Springs, TN saw his last sunset on October 7, 2015. Clyde saw his first sunrise on January 24, 1938 on Vowell Mountain, TN to his parents, Jim and Birdie Marlow, who are preceded in death by Clyde. He served as a deacon at Victory Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, and New Hope Baptist Church in Lake City, TN for many years. Clyde enjoyed camping, ginsinging with his buddies, the late Roy Hawkins, Della Kitzmiller, and Jeff Hawkins; he also enjoyed woodworking, and carpenter work.
The family of Clyde sends their deepest appreciation to Dr. Thompson, Dr. Sheth, and the staff of Methodist Medical Center during his stay at the hospital.
Along with Clyde’s parents he is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Wayne Marlow; brothers, J.D., Carl, Arnold, Charlie, and Tom (T.L.); sisters, Gladys Willow Mae, Leopal, and Cloyia Burnette.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Sue Wilson Marlow; children, daughters, Debbie and husband, Greg Cox, and Connie Marlow; sons, Glen Marlow and wife, Georgetta (Getta), and James Marlow and wife, Sherry; two grandchildren, Jessica Shupe, and Gregory Marlow; five great grandchildren, Samantha, Aleah, Matthew, Jacob, and Tenley; sister, Emma Sue Bumgardner, special friends, Robert and Charlene Seeber, and Lawrence and Jamie Bridges;brother in law, Jack Burnette; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Clyde’s family will receive his friends on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm with his funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Glen Marlow, Rev. Jeff Hawkins, and Rev. Stanley Hawkins officiating. Clyde’s interment will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
