Charlotte Jane Watson

Charlotte Jane Watson, of Mount Holly, N.C. passed away at the age of 74. She peacefully departed this world on September 16, 2023, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Born on January 26, 1949, she was the cherished daughter of George Washington Brickey and Dorothy Brittle Brickey.  She is also preceded in death by her brother, George "Vernon" Brickey and a lifelong sister by another mother, Sharon Groleau.

Throughout her life, Charlotte Watson was known for her vibrant spirit and zest for life. She found joy in various passions and hobbies, including her love for music, playing pool, traveling to new places, riding motorcycles, cooking delicious meals, and exploring the beauty of both the beach and the mountains. A trip to Cherokee held a special place in her heart.

While Charlotte's ventures were countless, her most treasured moments were spent surrounded by her loving family. Her children, Donna Rodgers, Bobbie Hime, Jo Green and husband Clay, and Jane Freeman filled her life with immeasurable happiness. Charlotte had a deep bond with each of them that transcended mere blood ties. Their unwavering support brought her immense joy throughout her journey.

Furthermore, Charlotte delighted in being a dedicated grandmother to Steven, Ashley, Aaron, Brian, Charlotte, Samantha, Dyami, and Joahli. Her love extended to ten great-grandchildren who were blessed to experience her warm affection as well. Beyond her immediate family circle sat numerous nieces and nephews who could always count on Charlotte's love and care.

In addition to family ties, Charlotte is also survived by her best friend, Bernadette "BJ" Gitzinger. BJ has always been a close friend by Charlotte's side throughout their lives. Their unwavering bond serves as a testament to the power of true genuine friendship.

The family has chosen to hold private services to honor Charlotte's memory, with interment at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church in Clinton, Tn. The embrace of cherished memories and recollections will provide solace during this time of grieving.

Charlotte Jane Watson will be remembered for her radiant spirit, her zest for life, and the love she bestowed on all those fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, forever etched in our hearts as an embodiment of joy, love, and resilience.
