Buster Lynn Phillips, age 67 of Clinton passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the Rocky Top Care Center following a period of declining health. Buster was a retired metal fabricator and a member of the Blowing Springs Baptist Church. Buster also retired from the Army National Guard after 23 years.
Born on December 31, 1957 in Clinton, Tn. he was the son of the late Buster and Mary Magalene Stittums Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Gary and Robert Phillips; sister: Linda Dotson and two infant sisters.
Buster is survived by his wife: Cherie Turner Phillips; son: Buster Thomas Phillips (Kadie) of Clinton; daughter: April Danielle Hatmaker (Troy) of Avon, Indiana; brothers: Charlie Phillips (Pam) of Oliver Springs and David Phillips (Callie); sisters: Mary Ann Goings (Mike) of Clinton, Vickie Aslinger of Jacksboro, Karen Isabell (Tom) of Jacksboro, Becky Herrin of Norris and Debbie Weldon of Jacksboro; grandchildren: Mallory Duncan, Alexander Duncan, Chris Phillips and Rylee Phillips; great-grandchild: Ellie Phillips.
The Phillips Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until time of his funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the Jones Mortuary Chapel with Rev. David White officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville with military honors.
