Betty Brown LaMarr Allen, age 91 of Clinton, Tn. passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in Lebanon, Tn. Betty was a long time member of Bowling Springs Baptist Church where she enjoyed going and loved her church family. Betty retired from Lake Shore Mental Health, and was loved and comforted by her fur babies. During her life she had many interests and hobbies. She loved being with her family and traveling with her husband. She was an avid reader and her Bible was her favorite. She had hand quilted many quilts that she gave to family and friends. She liked to play games, dance and loved fishing with her son-in-law. She worked a daily crossword puzzle that kept her mind sharp. She loved all sports but Lady Vols basketball was her favorite. In her last days UT beating Alabama put a hugh smile on her face.
Born Betty Geraldine Brown on October 25, 1930 in Friendsville, Tn. she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Maggie Bell Dotson Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sillis LaMarr, second husband Julian R. Allen, sister and brother-in-law Margaret L. and Norman H. Martin, son-in-law Bobby G. Summers, nephew Gary Martin, niece Patricia Freeman Messer and grandson John E. Summers.
Betty is survived by her sons, Franklin R. LaMarr and wife Minge of Lebanon, Tn., Kenneth J. LaMarr of Coleman, Fla., her daughters Linda K. Summers of Clinton, Tn., Carolyn F. Bell and husband Samuel of Knoxville, Tn., and Fonda G. Bledsoe and husband Emanuel of Lebanon, Tn., her grandchildren, Marjorie A. McKee and husband Bob of Knoxville, Tn., Barbara J. Hatchett of Knoxville, Tn., Betty A. Summers of Clinton, Tn., Clint T. Wright and wife Ashley of Birmingham, Ala., Stephanie A. Cordova and husband Jesus of Tucson, Az., Charles “Chaz” S. Bledsoe and wife Sandi of Mt. Juliet, Tn., Ashley M. Beson and husband Chris of Oak Ridge, Tn., Nicholas A. Longmire of Knoxville, Tn., Savannah LaMarr of Clinton, Tn., 10 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and large extended family.
A graveside service for Betty will be held at 3 pm Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. David White officiating.
