Allen, Julian R.

Julian R. Allen age 87 of Clinton,TN passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his home inClinton.  Julian was a long time member of the Masons joining Liberty219 in Baltimore in 1955.  He later transferred to Alpha Lodge 376 inClinton in 1987.  He became master in 1992 and served faithfully until he became ill.  Julian served our country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Bogue.  He served during WWII in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.  Julian was a gentleman’s gentleman.  He loved his son and all his family dearly.  Julian was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Althea Allen; brothers, Harry, James, and Edgar Allen; and his first wife, Imogene Allen.  He is survived by his wife, Betty Allen of Clinton,TN; son, Randall Allen of Clinton,TN;  stepsons,      Frank LaMarr & wife Kay of Lebanon,TN and Kenneth LeMarr of Clinton,TN;  stepdaughters,  Linda Summers & husband Bobby of Clinton,TN, Carolyn LaMarr of Knoxville,TN and Fonda Bledsoe & husband Emanuel of Mt. Juliet,TN;  grandchildren,  Christopher & Heather Allen and great grandchildren, John & Brooklyn.  Julian is also survived by 2 nieces, 1 nephew, several step grandchildren & step great grandchildren.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Betty Summers for all of the care given to Julian during his illness.

 Julian’s family will receive his friends on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 6-7pm in the Chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN with a Masonic funeral service to follow at 7pm.  Julian’s interment will be Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11am at Grandview Cemetery in Clinton, TN with full military honors.  Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.

Pyles, Terry Gene

Terry Gene Pyles age 52 of Clinton,TN passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 02, 2012 at the Sweetwater Hospital in Sweetwater, TN. He was known as “Mario”. Terry was a very generous man and had a great personality. He never met a stranger. Terry loved everyone and everyone loved Terry. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Pyles; grandparents, Fate & Grace Pyles and James Lea & Ruth Lea Wilson.

 Terry is survived by mother & stepfather, Margaret & Francis Wallace of Clinton,TN; son, Brandon Pyles of OH; daughter, Paige Pyles of OH; brother, Larry Pyles & wife Barbara of Nashville, TN; sister, Gloria Walling & husband Eddie of McMinnville, TN; granddaughter, Payton. He also leaves behind a very special companion and best friend, Lisa Macon; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Terry’s family will receive his friends on Saturday, May 5th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm with his celebration of life following at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Donnie Disney officiating. His interment will follow his celebration of life at Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Andersonville, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.

Wiggins, Shelby

Shelby Wiggins age 20 of Clinton,TN passed away suddenly Saturday, April 28, 2012 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Shelby was a very loving and devoted mother to Cole, loving sister, daughter and was family oriented. She was a hard worker, very caring, strong spirited person and was loved by everyone.

 Shelby is survived by her parents, Gregory & Kimberly Wiggins of Clinton,TN; son, Cole Wayne Wiggins of Clinton,TN; brothers, AltonWiggins of Clinton, TN, PFC Christopher Wiggins of Fort Hood, TX; sister, Heather Wiggins of Lake City, FL; grandparents, Alton& Brenda Wiggins of Norris, TN, Brenda Bates of Lake City, FL, J. Lloyd Bates of Kernersville, NC. Shelby also leaves behind nephew, Jeremy Wiggins, many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, Megan, Laura and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Shelby’s family will receive her friends on Thursday, May 3rd from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. Podosek, Henry

Henry Podosek age 76 of Clinton,TN passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at his residence. Henry was a family man, loving husband, father, and pop-pop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose Podosek; brother, Thomas Podosek.

 Henry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan Podosek of Clinton,TN; daughters,  Heather Podosek & Dee Thoren of Maryland, Lisa Burchfield & husband Rick of Clinton, TN; brother, Edward Podosek of FL. He also leaves behind 2 granddaughters, Lauren Fisher, Shelby Burchfield; 1 great granddaughter, Summer White and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Henry’s family and friends will be having a memorial service on Saturday, May 12th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home  in Atco, New Jersey.  Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.

Burchfield, Dennis Ray

Dennis Burchfield age 53 of Oliver Springs, TN passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. Dennis was a loving husband, father, uncle, brother and had a very supportive family. He was an outdoorsman, loved camping, fishing, hunting, gardening and ginsenging. Dennis enjoyed physical fitness and was an expert in marshal arts in which he held a black belt. He was of the Baptists faith. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Margie Burchfield; sister, Barbara Burchfield; father and mother in law, Calvin & Opal Braden.

Dennis is survived byhis wife, Renee Burchfield of Oliver Springs, TN; son, D.J. Burchfield of Oliver Springs, TN; daughter, Holly Stovall & husband Austin of Clinton, TN; brothers, Jr. Burchfield & wife Kathy of Clinton, TN, Elvis Burchfield & Lou of Oliver Springs, TN; sisters, Patricia Phillips & husband Billy of Robbins, TN, Betty McGhee & husband Darrell of Heiskell, TN, Pam Poore & husband Pete of Coalfield, TN. Dennis also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Dennis’s family will receive his friends on Monday, April 16th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm with his funeral services following at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Steve Seivers officiating. Barnette, Jeanette

Jeanette Barnette better known as “Jean” age 79 of Clinton, TN passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Summit View of Lake City in Lake City, TN. Jean loved working in her yard and with flowers. She always kept a nice home. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She loved life and had a good sense of humor and always had a million dollar smile. Jean was a member of Pleasant View Baptist in Clinton, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil & Sarah McCoy; 5 brothers; 6 sisters; and 1 grandson.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jerry “Joe” Barnette of Clinton, TN; son, Gerald Steven Barnette & wife Susan of Knoxville, TN; granddaughter, Paige Pickens & husband John of Knoxville, TN. She also leaves behind 1 great grandson, 1 great granddaughter, niece and care giver, Donna Thorndyke & husband Jim of Clinton, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Slaton, Dorothy P. “Polly”

Dorothy P. “Polly” Jones Slaton, age 85, of Clinton, TN passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from cancer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Lillian Prince; husbands, R. Fred Jones and Charles Slaton; brothers, Hollis Prince, Harold Prince, and Glenn Prince; sister, Helen Prince and grandson, Scott Jones.  Polly is survived by her son, Robert Jones and wife, Dea of Clinton, TN; granddaughter, Lisa Elliott and great-granddaughter, Sierra Elliott both of Knoxville,TN.  Sisters, Midge Anthony and Louise Mitchell and brother,  Melvin Prince all of North Carolina.

Isbill, Jeannette

Jeannette Isbill age 94 of Clinton, TN passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Summit View of Lake City in Lake City, TN. Jeannette was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother and was very proud of her 5th generation. Jeannette enjoyed visiting Florida beaches. She was a very friendly and proper lady. Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah & Flora Duncan; husband, Willis Isbill; sisters, Bertha Duncan, Audrey Turner; brothers, Lawrence Duncan, Charles Linus Duncan, and Ralph Duncan.

She is survived by; son & daughter in law, William & Mollie Kennedy; 2 grandchildren, Noel Kennedy of TX and Lori Hiscocks of TX; 5 great grandsons, 3 great-great granddaughters, and all the members & friends young at heart @ Trinity United Methodist Church. Jeannette’s family will receive her friends on Thursday, March 29th from 12 noon – 2 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with her celebration of life following at 2 pm with Michael Wilson officiating. Her interment will be Friday, March 30th at 2 pm at Walker – Long Cemetery in the Dutch Valley community. Jones Mortuary LLC in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.

Moore, David

David Moore age 62 of Clinton,TN passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center inOak Ridge, TN. He loved the beach, fishing and watching westerns. He likes cats and enjoyed working with the animal rescue program. David was an USMC veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Gladys Moore; sisters, Edna Beets, Eveyleen Pierce; brothers, James Moore, Cleve (Butch) Moore, and Ralph Moore.

David is survived by his brother, Charles A. Moore of Oak Ridge, TN; Sisters,  Verneda Davis of Okchobee,FL, Arleen Adcock of Okchobee,FL and                Gwen Cole & husband Jay of Clinton, TN; brother in law, Wayne Beets of Clinton, TN; special friend, Elizabeth Cantrell of Clinton,TN; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
